I will try to be good about thankfulness soon. For brief, recently I have had great cause to be thankful for:

My mother, and the wonder of comforting family ritual that is shopping

The marvelously nice people in Romulus, NY, including their EMT, ambulance, and police. Oh, and the hunters.

Modern car safety.

The fact that Geico is a far better car insurance company than they're given credit for.

Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

My wonderful husband, who, 13 years ago this past Saturday and countless times since then has decided I'm worth his time.

The new lease and apartment key sitting on said husband's desk.

Absolutely wonderful friends on the inter-tubes and IRL.

And my father, who knows how to find the humour in any situation. Although the EMT's look at you funny when you tell them "it was a short car to start with... now it's a bit shorter."

Venison.

Thank you.

Thankful for the hunters? Did you finally get some venison from that incident? I hope so!

So glad you are okay - and good luck moving.

Advice fro a hunter

Dad, who has been hunting deer since before I was born, says:

"If you are going to hunt deer with a car, you'd need a bigger car."

Thanks dad!

Re: Advice fro a hunter

Thanks, dad!

Yeah, I wish I'd gotten some venison (the hunters were very nice, that's why I'm thankful for them). But yeah, when the deer outweighs your car...

Re: Advice fro a hunter

Dad says be happy you did not hit a moose.

I am insanely happy you did not hit a moose. Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: Advice fro a hunter

You have no idea how happy I am that I didn't hit a moose (moose are not currently native to the Finger Lakes region, it would have been a hella confused moose!). I think I'd actually be injured had I hit a moose!

Re: Advice fro a hunter

Erm, Dad's point was that you'd be dead if you hit a moose. People with much bigger and more solid cars die when they hit a moose. Any driver is much better hitting trees or rock walls than hitting a moose.

But yes, it would have been once VERY confused moose.

But even deer can be dangerous. Very glad you are okay! And that your insurance is good.
